New single from Svankropp's upcoming second album

The Swedish-Norwegian quartet Svankropp have always been somewhat different. Uncompromising. Sometimes polarizing, sometimes extremely lovable. Always interesting.

Their new single "High" fits right into this. Unlike anything they've done before, still very Svankropp-esque. Dark, introvert, parts sleazy, parts classy, parts unknown. There's some obvious dark side of the 80s stuff going on, played through a indie rock filter.

"High" is the first single from their upcoming second album "Gabriel" - an album that marries the rough and the dark with the lush, dreamy and glamorous. Some might say that "High" is an outlier on the album, others might call it a center piece. At heart it's a song about loneliness and not belonging.

Svankropp: "High" is the soundtrack of a heartbreak acted out on the dance floor of a disco where everyone's left for the evening (with their newly found "loved" ones) exept you. Not a small feat for a song, huh?
